Beaulieu Boat Jumble

[ QUOTE ]
£8 is a years' Council Tax!!!

[/ QUOTE ] It's probably only the northerners who can afford to go to Beaulieu. If you live in the SE by the time you've paid your council tax there's nothing left!

Dont get me started on council tax.....really dont you could pay for a 25ft boat in the Hamble for what I pay (and you would have a lot more room) its not a London thing its a council thing.

Anyway fred drift...the bags will be plastic but they are of a type that break down once deposed of, i.e. they are considered environmentally friendly.

Our other option are paper bags but with the weather they wont last to long!

But you can always bring your own bags if this helps!

Thanks

What other world would a boat jumble be relavant in?

For almost ten years i have scoured every boat jumble i can get to.. A friend who has a stall at almost all the jumbles in the uk searches the jumbles that i cant get to.
About 40% of Victorious fittings etc came from beaulieu.. about 20% from other jumbles..20% from friends and other local people...10% from ebay... 10% from chandlers.
Thus beaulieu takes the "best place to get boat stuff" prize .. a tad better i feel that a mere " best boat jumble" award.
(For those looking for fender socks and fashion wellies it may not apply . i dont care)

Thank you everybody.

I am not disputing the size and worth of this event - I went last year. However, this alone does not justify the entry fee. You could argue that, because of the size, and economies of scale, the entry fee should be reduced - and free of charge to wooden boat owners.

IMHO this is yet another example of the cynical exploitation and opportunistic pricing pervading our Great British Society.

See you all there!
