we are heading off up river on thursday night for a 10 day break. Was just looking at Beale Park, has anyone been and is it suitable for 2 adults, or is it all just aimed at children. Am I right in thinking that you can access the park from the riverside moorings.

Yes: been
No: not for 2 adults
YES: it WAS aimed at kids and
Yes:- there WAS access from the river (I assume there still is)

In fairness we've not been there since the boys were MUCH smaller but at that time it was definitely a kiddie zoo with lots of nice fluffy things to ooooh and ahhh at. Lovely afternoon out for little 'uns but not so sure for two adults. It may, of course, have changed in the past 10 years!

Been there with the grand kids....................ok for them , bored me rigid though, and that was after I recovered from the cost of entry !!
good luck and have a good trip.;)

Shame you couldn't make it a week later as there is small boat show on the 8th-10th of June.
Nothing there when we went a few years ago for our type of boats but its a day out if your in the area.

Great place to moor, very peaceful with plenty of space and whilst the park is mostly aimed at younger children it is worth a visit with a range of wildlife over a large and attractive site. There are a few little sections tucked away which are worth seeking out.

You can access through a gate from the river, but it may not be manned during the week. In the past there has been a sign saying come in and go to the main entrance to pay. Alternatively it is a pleasant walk around the outside to the entrance.

It depends on the interests of the two adults. We went there a few years ago (without children) and enjoyed it. We even went for a ride on the miniature, steam railway and had a very interesting chat with the driver. Unfortunately, this appears to have been replaced by a diesel now. There was a very good collection of model boats belonging to the local club there as well as the wildlife.
