Hello.

I have bought a second-hand Najad. The battery charging system consists of three batteries (65 Ah for cranking and two 105 Ah for service) charged with a Bosh K1 65A alternator, a TWC electronic voltage regulator and a Sure Power 703-4 isolator.

I want to connect in paralel the two service batteries. My question is, witha that configuration, how must I wired the batteries to the isolator?; can I let unwired the Aux2 connection and use Aux1 only?

Tank you very much.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

You are right to connect your service batteries in parallel - they will perform better this way. Your isolator will handle 70A, so you could just use Aux 1 on its own. However, as your service batteries will take the bulk of the charging current, you could link Aux 1 and Aux 2 together - this will reduce the load on individual diodes and could prolong the life of the isolator.
