There are three different cables connected to the negative sides of my battery bank.
One is printed with -BM/-DM, one with -B-/-BS1 and the other with -BS/-BM. The mm2 area isn’t shown.

Does anybody happen to know the significance of the letters/numbers?

Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by "Printed with" If they are manufacturers print on the cable insulation, they are to do with the construction of the cable, are there any differences in the cables? If the print has been applied on installation then, yes, trace them. If the former don't worry!

I am not so much interested in what they connect to but rather there size/capacity. From their overall diameter, they seemed to be 50mm2 but given the different references printed on the sheathing by the cable manufacturers they can’t be.

If the references meant something to somebody, I was going to order some matching cable but I will measure again when I am next down.

My boat is 270 miles away so it will just have to wait for now.

Thank you.

I can't find any references to these but they do look as though they could be source/ destination ID's If you check the dia. of the cables and find they are all the same you can get the C/S area, plenty of guides and calculators on google. Got any pictures??
Perhaps Paul R. has more idea.
