Rod Collins marinehowto is such a great resource with decades of actual temperature controlled real battery testing. Really sad that he had a stroke recently and has had to stop.
Go with the evidence ?

While it may be more accurate at showing SOC I would suggest for most people it is far more useful to be able to measure current flows which it does not do. Remember very few people are liveaboards but use their boats for short intense periods and then leave them doing nothing. It is short term consumption and generation that is the main concern . Read the OPs actual question which was about how he can cope with his overnight consumption, not about monitoring the long term performance of his batteries. Get the balance of consumption, capacity and generation right and the batteries look after themselves when they are probably used only 40 or 50 days/nights a year, not 365 24/7.
