For those who don't know, the Barcolana is (I think) the biggest regatta in the Med. It's open to every class of boat and provides a free-for-all for about 2000 boats of all sorts with skippers ranging from the likes of Paul Cayard to yours truly (let it be clear: this range is very broad and unlikely ever to narrow). Two years ago, the bora blew at 40 knots and there was much jollification around the first buoy, providing the opportunity to learn all sorts of useful German, Slovene and Croatian words along the lines of "go away". There's all sorts of peripheral events on dry land too. The actual event will be on the 12th/13th.
Anyone coming over?

Very nice \"race\" indeed

... you are advised to keep fenders outside when going out of port and during all the race, and take already sliced bread and ham so it is more convenient for swapping with glasses of wine at ease with neighbouring boats during the whole course!
