Went for a Balloon ride yesterday evening. Present from the wife. When I got home she asked what it was like.

I said. It took one and half hours to get it ready, one hours flying and then two hours to pack it up, get it on the trailer and get back to where we had started from.

Oh, she said, just like sailing.

bloody stinkbaskets!

I was out hangliding the other day when a daytripping stinkbasket turned up with his gas tanks blaring away. Not the slightest idea or control over his heading, just cluttering up the air, probably navigating with a road atlas. tsk tsk.....

Hangliders
Don't talk to me about bloody handgliders
There I am parachuting slowly down when some hanglider comes shooting past me
loops the loop then flies off

He basically has the appearance of someone who has fallen through a whirlygig sheet drier whilst wearing a sleeping bag then landed on a set of pram wheels.

If it Cooks Flys or Floats, Rent it.

Re: suicidal stringdanglers

I am sick to death of this and something should be done. Our self-levitation club had our spring meeting completely ruined by a couple of gravity jockeys. No control whatsoever. My two sons who have only recently become airborne lost concentration and fell from four feet up.

Re: others!

You wanna try diving, all nice and peacefull then some bloody girt nuclear sub goes by creating a hell of a turbulence. Ever been caught in a trawlers net, nice ride till they catch a conger eel.

I am assuming that you are allied with those militant yogic flyers. i passed a formation other week navigating via bloody lay lines they reckoned. Caught 2 in my canopy.
Had to cut the chute and pull the reserve.

battle lines drawn

Typical! I was halfway thru a perfectly cogent and reasoned debunking of you and a relatively large swathe of the population, calling their taste and intelligence into question...when you have actually had the audacity to complain about me! Your evident disagreement with my point of view categorically and conclusively proves that you are incorrect, uneducated, inconsiderate and inexperienced. There is nothing you can do about this because you are a lower form of life, unfortunately, and it's ruining everything for me.

Re: damn! beaten to the punchline! nm

Ballooning.
Drifting aimlessly around the area annoying the locals in a supported by string gaudy wind driven bag of air unable to do anything about having a heading or go anywhere in particular.Relying on someone else with a power driven device to find you and get you back home, hours late and in the dark.
Also loads of requests for "Powered Craft" to keep well clear.
Ring any bells.

Flying:
Hours of boredom, punctuated by minutes of intense pressure... (a bit like shopping with the wife, really)
