Finally back into a mobo, from next Tuesday anyway. We have bought a 2000 Cranchi Endurance 39 of 2000 vintage, with a pair of KAD 44's from Boats.co.uk. These Cranchi's are not everyone's cup of tea, with just one sleeping cabin, but it suits us well, and represents a bargain to boot. The build quality of these boats is first class.
Boats.co.uk have taken our Gibsea 33 in part ex (a cracking little sailer loaded with goodies if anyone's interested) and have been a pleasure to deal with - nothing was too much trouble, various bits and pieces replaced, and any job we asked to be done has been done. Dan their sales manager has been fantastic, even though he supports Tottenham!
The boat in first class order, with 3 month warranty on the engines and outdrives and arrives on a low loader next Tuesday, when we can start to put our own stamp on it - no more 5 knots for us (apart from in the Hamble of course).
Roll on next week!
 
Congratulations! Bet you can't wait for that low loader to hove into view.

Even better when you're afloat, of course.

We too are back with a big engine after a couple of saily boats and enjoying a bit of speed again whilst we can still afford it.

Hope you have many happy hours afloat and look forward to seeing some pics!
 
Great news! The Endurance 39 reputedly has an excellent hull so you should enjoy it
 
Congratulations, the Endurance 39 is indeed a lovely boat.
If it weren't that fitting an hydraulic passerelle is practically impossible, I would have rather gone for that, back in the days when I eventually bought a Zaffiro 34 instead. But I guess that's much less of an issue in the UK.

Thanks guys. We will be using it quite a bit during the first 3 months, to ensure all is OK with the engines/drives whilst they are still under warranty. We loved the Gibsea, but SWMBO hates heeling, so we tended to motor everywhere unless dead downwind! May as well do 25 knots instead then..........!

I've always liked the E39: not enough accomodation for a mob, but an ideal complement to that Porsche 911 when there's just the two of you.

Thanks - not quite clean enough for SWMBO's standards, so it will have a good sort out before we start loading it. I was impressed with the hull on it's sea trial - seems very solid, and the mouldings are top notch according to the surveyor. Give us a couple of weeks, and it will be like new, though there's a bit of minor grp damage on the "beak" to sort, a couple of small tears in the (otherwise good condition) canopy, and someone has put oily boot marks on the cockpit carpet. Just pleased to be back in a mobo again, and it didn't cost too much to boot!
 
Saily boat's stuff all packed up (how did we ever get so much in a 33' boat?) ready to swap over. Mobo arrives this evening on a low loader, to be craned in at 07.30 tomorrow. The marina have given us a visitors berth for a couple of days for the Gibsea, so we can transfer everything over. All I asked for was a bit of dry weather - it looks like it's going to be hammering down tomorrow! Deep joy.....and strangely all our marina neighbours are going home today!
A crew arrive on Wednesday to sail the Gibsea back to Wallasey Island - a fair old trip.
