Another on the list of new things to learn about: paint.
Nearly fell off the chair when I saw the price of awlgrip.
I know nothing about paint, so yet again, on a steep learning curve. Is it really worth the money and why? Luckily, at the moment 99% of the paintwork is immaculate, but we need to cure a few rust spots around stanchion bases and obviously touch up the paint, so not a lot is needed. We were thinking of changing the colour, but not at the that price!
What's the opinion of using a contrasting paint on the these areas (seeing as they are likely to keep having rust through). Totally naff? What about compatibility of two differnt paints next to each other? I have called a supplier of Awlgrip and am awaiting a return phone call from their tech guy, but I don't expect he'll give me much info or advice on using other products!
