Avonite/Corian worktop scratches

I need to repair some knife marks/scratches on galley worktop, which is Corian (or Avonite, not sure of the difference). Is it a DIY job and how to go about it?

sand with fine paper then work through with various grades of scotchbright pads on a orbital sander.
thats how the joints are cleaned up
