Information please on the N.M.E.A output from the Autohelm 4000+. I am considering fitting the retrofit Controller and compass to replace my present 4000 (wheel mount circa 1990) in order to feed the compass heading to a Raymarine SL 70 Radar. I am aware that the uprate timing of the 4000+ gyro is not fast but at least I will have a heading display and a control unit that will receive GPS information.
I have tried the Raymarine Technical help line but the line is linked to America and although polite the adviser did not seem to be on my wavelengh

The ST 4000 has only an NMEA INPUT. Which converts some of the data to Seatalk (but not all). If you need the info to be present on the Ray Radar you do not need NMEA anyway. Just hook up the Seatalk cable :))
