Hi everyone I got this autohelm with the rose dial display, plug in not working.
I have open it, to check if the electrical part was ok.
Here is the problem this things has got a funny switch which allows the autohelm to go from off to calm, rough and vane position, which once apart I do not manage to put it back tougheter, and without the switch in right place I cannot check where the electrical problem is.
Any Hints??
do you know who repair those things so I could give them maybe a call?

PS i have checked the little engine and that is fine.

Second vote for Raymarine. They diagnosed the fault and repaired my ancient Autohelm 1000 for reasonable cost last year and were very helpful on the phone.

Have also received good service from Raymarine (they gave, not sold, me a skin fitting for a log once!) but they lost interest in the Autohelm 1000 some years ago. They put be on to a Ken Morey at Greenham Marine in West Cowes. He was very helpful & repaired my Autohelm 1000 a few times and supplied spares. He later moved next door to DG Wroath also in West Cowes but is no longer with them (unfortunately). Last I heard he was looking after the electrics at the Needles Pleasure Park.
It's very easy to wreck the 4 way selector switch if it is not released before separating the two halves of the black casing.
I rely heavily on my Autohelm 1000 but they are old and are prone to go wrong. Luckily I have a spare one kept on board. not looking forward to the day when they both eventually pack up. I prefer the compass rose to digital.
Hope someone comes up with a current repairer.
