A good friend has a public auction that deals with official receiver goods and has about 50 two stroke generators arriving
They are brand new Nixon HH1000 1Kva. with an estimate of +/- £100
Are they any good for my boat and do they seem cheap?
Warrenties still ok and I have started one and its quite quiet

Sorry but:-

Nixon Cleaning Systems in Evesham are offering them at £130 inc vat & delivery. I'd need it to be a whole lot cheaper bought at a receiver's sale.

and the other thing to think about is the load 1000 watts is 4 amps max, my 4 stage battery charger is rated up to 15 amps and also runs the boat 12 v load in that figure. if the charger even gets to a quarter of its rated capacity it will overload the genny, so what is the point? in the nicest possible way :)

Re: Power

15A @ 15v = 225Watts so a 1kW generator is more than adequate.
