Seems like bloody seagulls get everywhere, even Shanghai, judging by the bunting on the foredeck

The "bunting" was balloons. Big industry in weddings on the Bund, and I think the boat was set-up for a wedding party. You are right though, there are a lot of seagulls. Don't see many other birds, I guess they have been eaten!!! Apparently the Chinese don't eat Seagulls. Bad meat.
