Hello one & all.
Arrive back in France 04.30hrs Weds am. We had the best and longest sail since we've been in the Med!
.
For the first time I've used the Grib files to spot a 'window' forecast SE'lies. Bent on the 'twins' 3/4 jib & our hanked on No 2 on the inner forestay. The mizzen plus a scrap of main. A rather unusual rig one could call it gull winged fore & aft! The Hydrovane (Horatio) steered the whole way with only once a tweak of the sails and vane. Total bliss. However the seas, as they do, got into a bit of a slop so we had quite a roll on. Approaching the bay de Foz at just before 3am we were getting a little weary so got rid of the gib and main when the wind picked up and turned more easterly. We were surfing at 8knots at times i normal circumstances it would have been euphoric but we were very tired and opted to turn on the metal genny. We dropped the hook in the Baie de Carteau at 04.30 and went to bed.
Back in the Marina now and it's been non stop socialising since we arrived. Time for a holiday!!!! Only joking it's good to be back and have free wifi access so I can really catch up.
Great to see Pauline back --- Hi Pauline welcome back. Things have changed quite a bit so it'll take a while to come to grips with the changes.
Will try and post some pics and comments on Menorca at some point.
