Is there still the possibility to find a berth in the “marina” of Argostoli or after your one anchor on the Quay? We will be arriving there within a week. Suggestions are very welcome.

I don't know about the Marina, but there is plenty of space to anchor to the Quay, just driven back from there today, the Turtles were very active near the fishing boats! Grafoz may know more about the marina there, if he spots this post.

There definitely were a few yachts in the 'marina' at Argostoli both times I visited last year, among the fishing boats etc. Might be OK, though I have only used the quay.

When we were there last year most of the boats in the marina seemed to be in store or abandoned, you can anchor off the quay or moor to the quay, both those seemed the most popular.
You will be charged for mooring against the quay, the port police come round each evening to check for new boats and you pay from midnight to midnight, so a single overnight stay costs you two "days". But then again a three day stay costs you the same as no one checks in the mornings.

We berthed just behind the Port Police office in August two years ago. We were the only boat on the quay so lay alongside. Handy for the town.

There's usually plenty of space in the marina, but:
(1) there are no facilities
(2) once the northerlies start blowing, surge makes much of the marina untenable

In Argostoli... there is nothing to see or do... I try to avoid it.

There is plenty of space in the marina opposite Argostoli , its free and there are people down there all the time .
I used to stay there and a good friend still does .
nice walk across Drapano bridge , now repaired , no more cars allowed , and youre in town , lots of restuarants ,
bars and Leons kafenion where I had a beer last week , e 2.50 a pint ,
or in his new place 3 doors up ,
where you can sit on comfy chairs and enjoy the boats tying up and pay a meagre e 3 a pint !
He also provides WiFi , washing machines calls in a mini tanker and dispenses water on the quay .
if you like classic cars , theres a Kefalonian classic car rally on May 1st meeting in the square ,
lots of things going on good tavernas in the town square lots of people around .
It beggars belief that anyone could find it boring !
