Are you a twasack ?

The rest of the videos are very good, it's a shame he has to bleet a little....personally, as long as you don't do something stupid I haven't got time for these wash moaners...it's bleeding water..it's meant to go up and down...it's what it does!!

No I,m a twasackaki /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What a belting video.
His other stuff is good too.

Love it /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

My MF805 can kick up a lot more wash than those ski boats - I just love seeing the raggies rock and roll. It's the most excitement they've had all day and gives them something to talk about in the bar when they eventually get there.

Most raggies are nice folks but there's always the minority ...

So Dylan hates these crass, environment busting, inefficient hulled, snooty boats does he? So he hates the RNLI eh? Perhaps they'll remember that if he ever needs them.

Seroiusly Dylan is a great bloke when it comes to his videos, but, for such an intelligent man, is rather ill informed. According to another video, all you can do with a mobo is doughnuts off Littlehampton.

Keep up the good work, Dylan, we love the videos, even the one about the Crouch.

Signed,

A. Twasack

Just watched the video WHAT A TWAT that bloke is.

P. S According to the TWAT i must be twasack.

Why is it that nearly all raggies have this attitude?.

Think you're generalising a bit there - don't believe that most raggies do feel that way.
I thought he was quite amusing and he did have a point with regard to a couple of the mobo drivers shown.
Rest of his "film reports" are quite interesting.

No Geoff!

“So Dylan hates these crass, environment busting, inefficient hulled, snooty boats does he? So he hates the RNLI eh? Perhaps they'll remember that if he ever needs them”

The RNLI provide an outstanding service to all and obviously are not just an annoyance to others....as some definitely are.
Plus the RNLI are trained as how not to create a hazardous environment when in close proximity to other vessels.
Just because you can handle your boat within the confines of a Marina does not make you a safe user.

Dylan has produced a great video, I really enjoyed his sense of humor but everyone who knows anything about the easily recognized and popular mobos show that the film was speeded up, the Turbo 36 in particular would have created 2 x that wash at 17 knots.

The one boat that did get too close I presume was asked to do a photo shoot, if he wasnt asked then Dylan must have deliberately headed into the close quarters situation.

Great video, lets not spoil the current humorous atmosphere /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

“Great video, lets not spoil the current humorous atmosphere”
Totally agree Daka,
Not intended to spoil any well meant humour as I am one of the first to support and maintain such an approach to any and all aspects.
But a percentage of unsafe, un-seaman like inconsiderate individuals unfortunately for us all do exist and cause a risk when out on the water.
Raggies are no exception as I have recent examples of the inability for “Ocean Masters” not being able to rig their vessels correctly using only thin electrical insulation tape to hold a soft eye on their running rigging. And MoBo crew coiling bow and stern lines over their elbows like an old washing line, and that’s just two recent examples. Then there is the recent post of someone not knowing how to tie a Bowline after many years of boat ownership.
Good seamanship, good etiquette and a helpful manner should be the basis for us all.
Not to mention a good few beers at the bar at the end of an enjoyable day.

It's lack of understanding. I don't understand why JamesTT would wand to disturb the calm of a misty dawn in Menai and no doubt he doesn't understand why I like it undisturbed.

BTW, so far as I'm concerned it's not a raggie v mobo thing. I used to be a rib instructor. It's considerate v inconsiderate.

Lads the sea is big enough for everyone, be greatful you're lucky enough to be out on a boat, plenty of buggers knocked up in a hospital bed for the rest of their lives who'd give anything to be sitting on a boat, nevermind moaning about the people around you. Think about it.

A fine and admirable mixture of angry invective and calm reasonableness from the posters on this thread - as you would expect from a broad church.

Some of that clip was indeed filmed in the water skiiing area where there is no speed restriction.

But it is a water skiiing area - where people are supposed to use small ski boats. They are annoying and noisy but I have to live with that as I pass through

what I object to is the person who thinks that it is the place to let rip with his twin 500hp diesels, shove his 35 footer up on a plane and produce a three foot wash travelling at 20 knots across a a small estuary.

I believe that section of the Crouch was unusable to any boats less than 16 foot long - and really uncomfortable for anyone less than 30 foot. That is before considering the imact of the wash on one of the UKs most vulnerable landscapes.

And that bloke at the end did come really close to me.

I put my email address on the end of all the youtube clips and have already received some electronic unpleasantness.

I just wanted to see if anyone else thought that these big planing power boats have a disproportionate impact on other water users. - - even those with smaller mobos travelling at a decent speed.

One chap emailed me to say that I had no idea how annoying it was when sailing boats got in his way. They did not seem to appreciate how hard it is to manoever a 40 foot power boat going at 20 knots.]

And he is entirely correct I have no idea how hard that is to do. I also have no idea why he thinks it is appropriate to be travelling at that speed in the proximity of other water users.
