I was going well till I made a descision not to head so far south and start to head towards the cape and that has cost me big time. Now stuck in very light airs with no prospect of decent winds for the next 24 hours, and then there is only a very small window which I am struggling to make.

I reckon I wont be in Cape Town until Tuesday night now.

Nearly there.

Nothing more I can do now, set to cross the finish line, just hoping to carry a little more speed than the guys coming up from the south and pick up a few places.

Turns out that going North on thursday night was a bad move.

Just finished, in 125th.

I'd have taken that after crashing into spain at the start, but slightly frustrating as I was in 75th on the charge east before I took a punt on a Northern course.

If you had stayed where you were good chance you would have stayed around 75. Nothing ventured nothing gained. I took a chance a few days ago when I was about 25 miles behind Dyflin. I set it on a course south and went to bed. Got up next day went back towards CT and started gaining points all day. It was a good learning experience for the next leg. Biggest tip is Follow Brainaid. Annoying thing is he was right next to me just north of the Canaries.
