If it was so excellent as I am sure it was why not offer to pay for it
Maybe because some people actually enjoy helping others and don’t look for financial reward.

I've been on this forum for 12 years now with a personal policy of expressing gratitude for things I appreciate and avoiding pissing matches. It takes a really obtuse frame of mind to interpret what I said as anything other than a compliment to Paul, an appreciation of the value for money of the extensive paid work he has done for me and in addition the free advice and trouble shooting he has done over the phone (I am in Hampshire, he is in the East Midlands a lot of the time). I'm out of this thread.

I think that a lot of people here have paid VP however there are a few other posters ie Spannerman etc that are also pleased to contribute free but highly valued advice which is appreciated more than someone belching controversy.
+1 If I had to count up the amount of free advice I have had from Paul over the years (not to say some excellent servicing work) …. well you get the idea.
As far as I’m am aware no one has paid me for information on here , it’s given by myself fir free.
However from memory 2 people have paid for consulting work via emails of the last umpteen years . The proceeds from this have gone straight to my Daughter charity in Gambia , if the 2 known people read this they will back me up.
I have many clients from this forum , rest assured they know they will always get my advice for free , it’s part of the job , helping people is what I do and enjoy .
In past years there have been the odd few that like to have a go , it’s funny then to see a post from them on VP related issues appear , my memory is usually good on people.
The way I deal with it is my choice , usually the post is ignored.
That’s not in spite but in principal.
Stuart Wineberg you are a true gent , even now your boating on the dark side .
Btw Scottie this is not a pop at you , just a way back in this thread as you could put it .
Another vote for VP - top man!
Another recommendation for a very professional marine engineer.
To balance things out I have a criticism for VP........he doesn’t come to the Isle of Man enough.
Last time was the Rally being cancelled......what sort of excuse is that!![]()
