Aquaholic has just released a new video........Match.

Really nice video and stunning ship. Seeing it in the flesh must be another level but the video shows the beautiful design features very well. Even the weather played its part.
JFM, this trip north for the BMYS must have been eating into any pre-season plans in the Med or do you plan to keep it in the UK for a change? 😃
Anyway congrats again on this project!
I’d love to see the look on Yarmouth Harbour Master’s face as she appears at the entrance

I took the short cut of transporting the boat from Nice to Southampton on a ship. Organised by Peters and May who were excellent by the way. She will also head south on a ship, next month, so will arrive in the Med in first half of July, ready for the summer season.

Here are a few pics of the shipping. These first 7 pics were taken in Nice, loading onto the ship and the last 4 were taken unloading in Southampton (all in late 2024).

Thanks to JFM and Nick for presenting such a fantastic video.
SWMBO and I watched it on our largest screen on our own boat - our screens aren't behind a mirror though!!
Maybe I can be the first to say - a lovely display of scatter cushions as well as perfection in all aspects.
I was embarrassed into buying some more cushions the day after our visit for our cockpit. What has it come to when I’ve developed cushion envy? My 18 year old self would kick me hard in the nuts and and say man up but I can’t in-see the plump loveliness of his flybridge scatter cushions 😂

I couldn’t let Lady Rafiki near Match. Boat envy wouldn’t be an issue, but I fear the cushion acquisition 😧

I am sure the transporters know very well what they are doing but it still must be a heart in mouth moment when your pride and joy, aswell as a result of so much effort, is hanging in the slings like that.

Late to the party on this one, will catch up with the video this weekend in full 4K technicolour at home!

@jfm did you do your research on the vessel before you loaded? I know Peters and May do a fantastic job and their load masters are second to non. It was a rather unusual situation, but Emmslift Hendrika had a small stability issue on a previous, unrelated voyage with boats on board!.

Yup of course I did :). I decided there was nothing about that prior incident that was systemic, and therefore there was no worry about a repeat. It’s actually a great ship for a winter yacht delivery because the front superstructure protects the yachts on deck.

Did you use it as an opportunity to clean the hull ?

Would expect nothing less!! They are good ships. We use them extensively and actually we “almost” had cargo on that previous voyage that had issues… thankfully for us we used alternative tonnage…

Nice to see Match up in these cold waters for a little longer, we were at universal this weekend on our new boat, may venture further up river for a closer look before you go!

Thanks for sharing the video, will watch it soon!!

That incident was outside one of the most weather beaten parts of Norways western coastline. The Stadt peninsula reaches far out to sea and has challenge topographic and current conditions.
This area is feared and respected, also by big ships. With leisure boats, you only pass there on fairly good conditions.
Its decided to build a ship tunnel so ships can bypass that stretch of coast that will start construction in a few years.

The big green workboat catamaran slid of the deck during the night without crew on board and was later recovered almost without a scratch. The Windy 58 Zephyros amazingly stayed on board which shows that those guys really strap the boats well.

Was a real joy to finally see aquaholics video on Match. The amount og thought and planning gone into this boat is extreme, but that was not the least surprising after following this forum for the past 20 years :)

What a great video of a stunning boat. JFM it really shows how many hundreds and hundreds of hours you put into her creation, which we have all been lucky enough to be privy to through your massive input to this forum. She is truly beautiful and a testament to great team work. Thank you.

Thanks for the kind words Simon and hope all is well. Not as fast as your machinery but doing a different job. Drop by next time you're in SofF/MC

Nick/Aquaholic doesn't really do engine room and general systems technicalities, and there is a lot more going on in that engine room than he showed :)

Match is back in Antibes on her home berth. Next weekend we start out on a big trip with the mini fleet. Corsica, Sardinia, Italy.

We had to settle for Weymouth and back.
Great video :-)
