Aquaholic has just released a new video........Match.

This is pretty much the sister vessel to our own boat. I couldn’t believe it when we had the grand tour. The Fusion head unit on the bridge (well tucked away at ground level) is EXACTLY the same as the one on ours…… 😂😂😂

An amazing boat that flows so well. It was a pleasure and educational listening to the thought process behind many of the design elements. Knowing Aquaholic was due on later in the day we did chuckle at the fact there are no cupboard door handles anywhere so how was he going to know where the cupboards were to open 😂

JFM’s generosity was summed up by 3 young lads who not only had been allowed on to have a look but who were ecstatic at the fact they left clutching “Match” goodie bags. They had hit the boat show jackpot. I was transported to my childhood walking round the motor show as was with bulging bags of swag.

The icing on an excellent long weekend.

Another thank you from me to Nick and JFM for the detailed video and presentation. It was very interesting to see this, following the even more detailed sneak peek we got in the huge build thread!

I noticed that the hatch to the anchor chain locker (c.30:15 in the video) is made from carbon fiber. This made me wonder if its just hatches, or if large parts of the decks are made from carbon fiber as well - I don't remember if this was mentioned in the build thread?

The look into the tender garage and launch mechanism was also very interesting, but I couldn’t help but notice the missing Seabobs, Awake board, etc. So I was thinking, there could be quite substantial storage spaces that weren’t covered in the video? Just a couple of questions for JFM or any visitors on his boat who got the full tour :).

This is a great video from Nick, however, seeing Match in the flesh is on a different level. Thank you JFM, San Lorenzo, Ancaster for giving us the opportunity. The logistics and costs involved must be eye watering to get her in Swanwick.

Thanks for the kind words. It was a busy show - lots of traffic on the boat, some seriously considering and plenty of people just browsing and have a nice afternoon in the sun.

We were parked next to Play d'Eau, a Fleming 55 that is pretty famous on here :). Another short video here:

The decks are GRP cored with foam, no carbon. That hatch is a bought-in component made in carbon just to make it a bit lighter to operate. Seabobs and Awake board are all in France - I took them off the boat before transportation up to the UK, just to make more space in the garage.

But yes, there's lots of storage that Aquaholic missed. The spec of the boat was to have no door handles anywhere except on doors that people walk through. So Aquaholic missed loads of storage because unless you know where to look you might think panels are just walls/bulkheads, not doors to cupboards.

Just goes to show that pretty much every area of the boat is customised in one way or another. I'm sure the Sanlorenzo team is very proud to showcase your boat, and I hope they can convince lots of customers to go ahead with a purchase!

It was clear from Nick's video that real effort want in to stage and highlight some of the artwork you have on board, also featured in the Sanlorenzo video. I was curious about it and wondered if you would be open to sharing the stories behind the pieces most meaningful to you - of course, only if its not personal!

Really nice video and stunning ship. Seeing it in the flesh must be another level but the video shows the beautiful design features very well. Even the weather played its part.
JFM, this trip north for the BMYS must have been eating into any pre-season plans in the Med or do you plan to keep it in the UK for a change? 😃
Anyway congrats again on this project!
