How is the Thames looking this morning around Windsor? The sun is shining and if I can get the 3 lazy crew members out of bed I intend running down to the boat a.s.a.p.. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
im right by old windsor lock, my mooring has rasied just over 2ft since thurs morning, current is very fast,
i know they have to make a living & most are capable of handling there boats but i cant understand why the party boats are still out, they turn round right by my boat which is very worring as a couple have been pushed quickly sideways towards my mooring.
Reds were still out at Sunbury three hours ago (noon). The wier stream is running at about 4 knots and with HW coming on they can't easily get rid of it.
Saw your posts thanks and tried to post from my blackberry phobe lol - and failed. River at least 2/3ft higher than normal at our mooring. Overflowing hardstanding and now up to the grass. Have taken pics and will post later. Stream running very fast any boats passing cause waves onto mooring and push the boats in so they are sitting on the mooring hardstanding. Not nice at all. Spent the night on the boat as too worried to leave her, one of the guys stayed anchored out in the cut of the mooring. When we left at 4 pm the river had risen another 2/3 inches in a matter of 10 minutes. Trusty friends on the mooring keeping an eye on Tristan and we have also lay the anchor down to try and keep her off the bank. Despite all this we spent a very nice two days with our fellow moorers, enjoying the sun, the wine and helping each other try and keep our boats and the absentee moorers boats safe. So all in all not the weekend I wanted but strangely enjoyable just the same. Pics will follow. Hope it starts to drop in next few days. any thoughts? lol
