Trying to think who you were now? Jim Warren was our Service manger who I would guarantee. you would be talking about. Not me.! Lol. Them two were well suited to each other. Chris Collman could be quite a handful. But he started my career, although I had just been working at Penton Hook 2 years before.
Funny enough we are doing the same, never watched it before and slowly watching it on UKTV, up to series three. I just enjoy watching the scenery, boats and even cars back in the 80s, and how much things have changed etc, its like spot the location. Your right the acting is questionable in places. You missed the Fletcher boats and what were the boats in the power boat business and racing scenes?Having completed watching all six series of Howards Way courtesy of Youtube, I can say with confidence the acting by all was more wooden than a hobby horse.
The character Jack Rolfe never does any work, and shouts the phrase "It's my YARD" in nearly every scene he's in.
Truthfully, me and SWMBO found it strangely addictive to rewatch, as we couldn't remember it from first time round.
The boat nerd in me spotted the following boats used during the series, and the regular use of Sealine boats was a marketing dream for the company.
Hatteras 53
Sealine 215 / 285 / 305 / 328 / 365
Humber 38
Fairline 36 Turbo
Fairey Swordfish 36
Searay 39 (?)
Princess 45 & 55
Riva 48
There were also numerous boats with masts and some flappy things attached to them, but I know sod all about those strange type of boats![]()
Great guy indeed, he was always trying to sell us a Fairline. I remember at one SBS, the Fairlines were opposite the Brooms. We stepped offTrevor is still very much in the game. He runs Fairline in Denia/Moraira, Spain. He moved to Spain nearly 10 years ago iirc. Also sells Axopars. Great guy - everyone loves himI had a chat with him in Dusseldorf couple of weeks ago.
Hope you didn’t trip over your tongue!I saw Avril ( Susan Gilmore ) way back in the early 90s on the high street in Lymington, she lived local at the time .
