On my day skipper practical, the instructor put loads of fenders 9inc the big ball type) on just one side of the boat and we each spent a good hour or so mooring. No tie up just placing boat and off and on again.

If your in a marine they probably have a spot they will let you use away from everyone (not a weekend I would guess).

This would be the best form of practice.

worth asking, maybe two or three people could get together on afternoon?

There is something here called a docking simulator :-
(Go to the bottom of the left column and you will see it)

P.S. I would think anyone who does this on one of the hottest days of the year must be a bit sad, but there you go all IMHO of course /forums/images/icons/wink.gif You could wait for the rain to come though /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

P.P.S. I had problems with it a few minutes ago /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

yep. i had problems with the mouse too. i was trying to get it to turn, and it was not. in order to get out in to the spin circle, you hhave to go through a direction, so it is never still.

i think it is unfair that we are in the smallest boat though.

its just not fair!!!

Please dont take this unkindly, but as far as I'm concerned you're going entirely the wrong way about tackling this problem....simulators are not the answer.
Get out on the water in your own boat and practice, practice, practice.
Throw some money at a good instructor to spend the day with you on your own boat and just keep at it until you're bloody brilliant or he tells you you're cr*p.
There's probably a few folk on here who would be delighted to help you play with your lovely expensive Camargue 55
