You're right.
At £800 it looks a bargain. I was thinking of building one of these as a winter project and have just been quoted £430 for the plywood kit (no fixings or adhesives etc), moulds and plans for an Auk.

Say 150 hours to build. That's £5.33 per hour not including materials. You'd make more stacking shelves.
