Another summer weekend

Hear Hear!

We left Bray, heading upstream at 10:00 and after a brief respite and Martini at the Ferry (In Cookham) returned, bathed in beautiful Sunlight!

A great voyage /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nearly missed our Commodore heading back through Bray on the final leg, managed a wave, but no time to dip our duster or raise the fenders.

I'm almost certainly blackballed for next year..... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

We saw you going past us at Henley but didn't have to time to wave let alone put the forum burgee out! Had a heavy night out at PCC for the Laying Up Supper of the UTMYC. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Lady Gay gleaming in the sunshine as usual /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

ps, Who do the Learned Forumites think was on the top table at the UTMYC laying up supper in their best bib and tucker??(they do scrub up well):shocked... can you guess?

We saw Witches Broom going upstream and waved.

You had already left when we got to the marina... poor old Tailspin II did not get to go anywhere today though.

Topped Carli's tank up, 26 litres cost about £20. All full now.

Surely not Byron and Eileen?
Let's see how good they look at the ODCC dinner on Friday!
Is there a chance we will get there by boat this year? It will be a first!

There were no Birchwood 25's at the Bray Sail Past on Saturday, I was guest on a grand Birchwood 37 sports boat called Jays. Super day.

I hope you were wearing a Hoodie or something else to disguise yourself.

Bl--dy cheek!!.

Well I didn't go to the sail past cos I didn't want to feel like someone else's tender with all the big boats out there /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Lovely day Sunday. Not the right day to be trying to make a recalcitrant engine start. Jump leads didn't help, solenoid clunks happily but nohting more. Then humped all the batteries home. At present I am too scared to pull the starter motor in case its gone runny.

Mind you, that was getter woozy at the meet at Windsor, left all the cockpit lights running all night, including those that shore charger doesn't do:-)

Hope I wont be looking for a new starter, anyone with a souce of 24V ones for 6354s may get called for.

Pity really, fnacied a trip down to Hampton Court and back.

Rumour has it they were at the front to clear the path for you to collect all those raffle prizes you won..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A most excellent weekend, indeed, can't believe the weather was so good but guess our Commodore must have arranged it especially for the sail past.

As for being blackballed No Regrets, don't worry, I think you'll be alright, that banner you have on the boat must have helped, look even the Commodore has one now.

Got one for Unwinder too, thought it might earn some browny points for the best presented boat but still didn't win even after scrubbing all morning!

Darren.

It's worth pointing out that the Commodore's guest for the Sail Past was Kim Benge the wife of Adam the Cookham Lock keeper, and in addition to choosing the best turned out boat she gave a little talk on her work with Save Our Services. She had been on the radio the previous day together with other lock keepers wives in order to raise the profile of the lock keeper's plight.
