'Fraid not. Except in rare cases electro-plating is only used with elemental metals (which stainless, of course, isn't).
When you say 'gun metal finish' do you mean actual gun metal or just a surface treatment?

Based on that I have sent the link to Mr Stainless at Levington for a quote to get one made up with backing plate etc.

Thanks for your help.

You can have the bronze one chrome plated if you want a shiny finish. These plates are normally used on boats where the bronze or galvanised finish is more appropriate than shiny stainless.

However, would not be difficult for a fabricator to make up a similar fitting in stainless - just make sure he knows how to weld the eye on properly!

Any particular reason for not wanting it in gunmetal? This is a 'real' bronze with excellent corrosion resistance and good strength. At least as good as a stainless steel version, its only drawback(?) being that it isn't shiny.

Thanks Vyv

Just got the quote for having a SS one made. > 5x the cost of the galv one. Actually I think galvinised will look just fine, may even splash out on gunmetal ;)

Suggest a more economical option may be Ken Wickham of RSA. He has Lotus Eater, the green and white 28 footer in Rochford.
