Most weekends, yes, we sail to one of the dozens of spots in, or around, the Solent. When we get longer runs, yes we plan the voyage, but not to the extent of booking a marina berth at the other end. We may even plan to visit particular ports but the joy of sailing is that detailed plans are ultimately useless because there are so many variables that have a habit of varying. Surely, far more dangerous is to stick rigidly to a planned destination because of a (pre-paid) marina booking irrespective of the circumstances?
