So my anodes are due , as they were 40% gone last year what happens when they have all gone , we were due to come out the day the marina closed.

You get down on your hands and knees and pray the new leccy installation they put in is mint. Otherwise no change for you. Marina Queens have no need for running gear :D

I am in a similar position, but with a bit more anode I think (hope)
When the anodes are gone you start to get problems with your props, possible the rudders and P brackets too. The zinc starts to come out of the bronze alloy and weakens them. If ordinarily on your berth, your anodes last a decent length of time, then this is is not a fast process. It takes many months. If you are in fresh or brackish water - again it is slower. If the props and metal work have been antifouled with some sort of paint this also slows the process down. I wouldn't panic yet, and to be honest there is nothing you can realistically do right now.
Next time the boat is out have a good look at the props after they have been really well cleaned and look for salmon pink spots or pink edges. If there are any, see if they will just polish out with a bit of emery cloth. Give the edge of the blades a gentle tap with a small hammer or the flat of a spanner in a few places - they should make a nice "ting".
If the damage is bad a prop shop will probably able to restore them by brazing in fresh metal. Hopefully we can all get moving again in another 6 - 8 weeks so your boat should be fine. Don't worry.

Snorkel for “ exercise “ ........seems anything goes looking at the pics in the media :) :)
Just keep 2 M away from none family members .
Be quick before Hancock bans “ exercise “

Hear that Roy. They're all saying you're stuffed ? and I think Insurance will bail on you with some Act of God or whatever clause. Even blame the Chinese for a terrorist attack, that definitely voids your claim. This is Karma for disposing of my Malbec.

I suppose you could ask the marina for a nice bit of zinc attached to wire hanging off the stern. Ask them to ground it in the leccy box live terminal for you. Sorted

No it wont. Misappropriated Malbec carries heavy Karma. If his running gear survives I'll just find another way to shaft him.

I am in the same situation, boat due to be lifted but cancelled, luckily in early March I did check my anodes and were okay and should last until later this year. To answer your question, a few years ago I had an issue where the prop anode depleted very quickly which I think was due to the bar anode falling off (or depleted completely), this meant the prop anode was the only protection. The outdrive trim rams end caps were starting to "dissolve" and although they didn't leak I had them replaced which was expensive, the rest of the outdrive was fine and I think the layers of paint added some protection.

Have you checked the anodes condition since last year in the water?

No

?

Love it! Are you stewing yet?

PS did you ask if the marina staff could hang an anode off the back for you? Better than nothing under the circumstances. Can they gain entry to the boat to earth it if necessary? I'm sure all will be fine regardless and if it's any comfort if there is any fizzing going on through surrounding stray current anodes wouldn't help you for long anyway. So chill.

So boat lifted today , had a email off marina manager saying she is out with photos of hull without asking for them , so another top job from D n R.

Yes all is fine still half of anode still present , tried to upload photo even shrank photo but wont have it.

Roy. Stop worrying. Your anodes were still good when we looked middle of last year.
Us Raggies on river moorings still have the same problem.
We just have a gorp and then a head scratch then another rum and coffee.
Much more preferable to Gin and tonic on a palace.
OOOOOH errrrr.

Could a temp anode not be installed? Decent size cable attached to an anode and the grounding point on the boat and then chucked over the side.. obviously not required now as it's been lifted.. but an option for those that can't get lifted? I know I've read about it being done...
