Anodes for Cardiff Bay

Neither use aluminium as you will be switching from fresh to salt if you go out into the channel. If you don't leave the bay use magnesium. However if you go into salt water for a few weeks it will go.

I have aluminumn and the anodes go but the prop and seacocks are fine. I spend a few weeks in saltwater the rest in the bay.

Force4 in Cardiff recommend Aluminum for a boat that spends most of it's time in the Bay. I fitted one last September but have yet to how it has lasted.

Hi

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll give Stuart a ring - had a quick look on their site and they have 1 for 110, not sure if compatible with the MS25S though.

Cheers

Stu

Wigmore-Wright suggest Mg, but I'd be interested to hear how Al lasts after a few weeks in salt. I wasn't aware they were available for the Volvo 2020 saildrive legs (120 drive on mine I think). I guess one concern I would have is an Al anode protecting an Al drive and prop? Not sure if this would work.

It all depends how long you will spend in Salt water. My Aluminium is lasting well. The shaft annode lasted just over a year. I spent two weeks in salt water last year and plan longer this year.
