Its that annual refit time.... This is a huge 'big up', as the younger members of humanity say, to two companies who show how it should be done. First anodes. I needed three sets of hull, shaft and engine pencil anodes to cover this year and when I'm away. Well known supplier wanted close to £90 per set. Also my boat has stud positions that are 185mm apart. This has involved butchering the aforementioned companies tags with a 12mm drill. Not easy on a boat!! To the rescue comes Invicta Anodes of Rochester. Non standard hole spacing...no problem. Can I get three sets fairly quickly...no problem. Cost...three sets for £99. Yep..£33 a pop. So I wait with bated breath for the specified delivery date and bang on time the courier arrived (please note this Amazon, it can be done). The quality is in excess of the big companies offering. Totally chuffed. Then my gas regulator. I bought 20 months ago a Hayward marine regulator so out of warranty. It froze fairly spectacularly this winter and when the thaw arrived it developed a fault. Mr Hayward offered very detailed advice on a fix but it was still 'iffy'. I sent it to him with a request to have it adjusted etc. He got it Monday....I got a new one Wednesday. If that isn't customer service I don't know what is. I have had lengthy discussions with him re continental adaptors and the man is encyclopaedic with advice. A public thank you. Stating the B obvious, I have absolutely no connection to either companies, just a very satisfied punter.
