Thank you Chums,

I was just told about ths thread by Tam Lin - to be honest I am touched and surprised !

I have to say I found YBW an increasingly unfriendly place - for everyone not just me - and shifted to a much more genial forum.

My enthusiasm for the Anderson 22 continues unabated, there is a lot of interest and activity in the boats despite Covid etc, we have a new website I hope to add info' to, and the Facebook site is very useful as it allows quick Q & A's.

I was very lucky, I'd already decided to keep my boat ashore this year for what has turned out to be a somewhat lavish refit, before the virus struck and most of my friends at my club ended up opting to stay ashore and refit too.

So if anyone has questions or chat re A22's please post here or PM me.

Thanks,

Andy

Thanks Neal,

if you fancy a good value one we both know very near you, I have just this morning heard she is seriously on the market - needs elbow grease and some - not much - money to get operational, I could give you the full info as I inspected her a few years ago - lots of potential for someone willing to sort her or have someone do it, mostly hull clean / maybe paint and a few items required.

Thanks, Andy. I should be strong, as the timing is not right for us (we've got two boats already), but I am feeling a really strong pull to something smaller (I hold Wansworth responsible: have you seen his thread about twenty footers?).

Neal,

I haven't seen that thread but I can imagine it, back to basics not driving a load of furniture and electronics around is the way to go - thing is, the A22 is exceptional for a 22 - I had a Carter 30 which was ' goodish for a 30 of the time ' - good useful experience but I couldn't get my A22 back fast enough, much pleasanter to sail and handier if the weather goes pear shaped. My e-mail is on site anyway but it's andylaw119@hotmail.com

Adding to what others have said, great to see you back Andy and - sadly - your points re the forum are well founded.

And best of luck with your refit .....warp speed here we come ??

Everyone has to take responsibility for their own madness?
