I'm planning to overnight in the bay near the SW entrance of the gulf (sorry cant remember the name and havent got chart or pilot to hand). The pilot says its protected from swell by the tide. Presumably best avoided with anything from the west, but anything else to watch out for? What happens if things do turn nasty and one needs to beat a retreat into the gulf??(!!!)

Bagh Gleann Nam Muc I think it's called. Pretty sheltered from all but NW which is largely protected by the tidal flow in the Gulf. It would probably only be uncomfortable at slack water when it should be ok to leave safely.

Seam to remember some nasty rocks in the entrance to the bay as well, not like to go in if there was any bad weather possible.
Lovely spot though.
