Anything nautical in your garden ?
If an anchor does it have to be a Fisherman's?
I'm not too far from salt water so ornaments seem popular .

Local beach launching fishermen have been hauling up interesting antique and large old anchors for years.
One guy I know just leaves them by his shed/boat for visitors/punters/tourists to search him out.
He sold one a couple of years ago for around £1000. Certainly must have been a job to lift it for transport.

I had a large bronze prop by the door. One day I realised it was no longer there and we couldn't remember when we'd last seen it, despite it being a really prominent feature.

I imagine someone with a white van had grabbed it and weighed it in.

I have a 35lb (genuine) CQR anchor on the patio.

I daren't put it in front of the house because I know from this forum how highly-regarded CQRs are, and I am sure it would be stolen.
Au contraire, my friend. My neighbour has had one outside his front door, a 30kg size, in stainless, with about 30 metres of stainless chain, for at least 4 years. He took it off his 8m class, but it’s not big enough for his new ride, so sits in state, at the edge of the road. I would hardly know where my drive was, at night, without it’s dull gleam in my headlights. I will suggest fairy lights.

If a fishermans anchor of a reasonable size were on my front garden, then passing cars would object to being hooked.
The other side of the fence though there are 2 aluminium masts, two wooden masts and one sailing boat.
One ally mast is in use, the other will become a flag pole. The wooden ones are now a source of wood..

Ah I eventually found the exact place, we accidentally saw it during a walk, I only remembered vaguely the area.
Good for a "Where is it?" :)
If memory serves me correctly, I did a "Where Is It" thread with the very same photo several years ago. Alas, someone, possibly you, guessed correctly on the 2nd or 3rd reply, which qualifies that thread as a candidate for the most boring thread of the year. Hey ho....

We managed to salvage the anchor from a ship wreck just south of Robin Hoods Bay and put that on my parents lawn. It was an Admiralty Pattern type and weighed best part of a ton iirc. Was a bit of an epic adventure retrieving it, involving a raft, a fishery protection vessel and the local coastguard (the last two weren’t planned!!)
