I have AIS on my boat from when I am on the tidal section, I recently installed an AIS receiver for Marinetraffic.com near my mooring location that works quite well at putting those of us with AIS on the map.
There is not much coverage between Reading and Goring, I have a receiver that could be installed at a high location with a view of the river in that area, if you think you have a suitable location at home or work and may be able to help, please let me know.
The receiver just needs power and an Ethernet port on your internet router, and the aerial, that I can help with Installation if required.
The system does not use much data at all.
