Advice Sought

Cut the existing end off and use a Stalok terminal if you want to to it yourself or take it to a rigger/chandelry

What ends do you have on the wires?
Take them off the stern end of the wire and use line to lash to the fixing point. They can be tightened when they stretch and quickly cut for recovering MOB's etc.

To remove - one end may have a screw-on eye. Undo it then the wire can pull out of the stanchions. The alternative is that if you remove the bottlescrew the threaded end of the wire will be small enough to slide out.

Go to your local rigger and ask him to chop a bit off and re-swage the end. Bear in mind that there is a minimum amount you can shorten by which is the amount you have to put inside the new fitting, around 3 cm.

hi when i get any slack in any of mine i cut and swage an eye on end then buy a small turn buckle and this will allow you to release it quickley if you need to.. buy a turnbuckle with a hook one end and eye the other hope this helps. dave

IMHO guardlines should be terminated at the cockpit end with several turns of line. You can get enough tension on them to make them look smart AND cut them loose in to assist MOB retrieval.
