Anyone know about Crescent 14hp electric start outboard motors?....foibles, spares availability, what to watch out for when buying etc.

I had one of these many years ago. It must be quite old, I don't think they've made them for years. Mine had Electrolux written all over it, part of that group.
Not a bad engine, quite economical for a two stroke outboard, certainly better that American engines of the time. The main foible, I remember, it tended to 4 stroke at low revs. No problem, apart from the fact it shook, and bits would fall off. My relationship with the engine finished when it was pinched off the back of the boat.

In such case it´s a Swedish make of outboards and the production ended sometimes during the 70-ties.
As far as I know spares are hard to find even here in Sweden.
I would say, avoid it!
