A friend of ours has jus purchased a Azimut 42 with cats 3126 in looking at the anti freeze and it doesn't look like it has any in could any one advise what type should be used and what is the capacity of the closed system as they haven't got a manual for the engines so they can purchase the correct amount
Many thanks

Best to call Finnings, the Cat marine specialists. I have the 3126's in my Azi 39, but the manual is on my boat. I will check as soon as I get to her, but others might have filled the gaps by then.

According to my 3126B Manual the coolant capacity of the engine only is 39 litres. It goes on to say that the "external system" includes an expansion tank with the following components: heat exchanger and piping. It then directs to CAT or OEM specifications. Hope that hasn't muddied the water too much but at least it should give you a base value.

You can use blue, green or pink but not the yellow as it won't mix .
The blue and green is good for 2 years the pink 3 . Yanmar insist on pink at it has an anti cavitation property.

BW boat by any chance?
