Left dinghy on pontoon alongside wall after giving an end of season bottom scrub. Forgot to notice that pontoon was rising with tide and dinghy was slowly being crushed between pontoon and overhanging capping rail. Five minutes longer we would be minus dinghy. Amazing how grp can flex.

Many years ago we tacked our Jaguar 25 around the large red Emsworth/Northney channel marker .......but didn't .....and proceeded to hang there on the back stay. Rather than cut the line I undid the shackle onto the boom and we sprang free ! Didn't lose the shackle either.

Mistake.... upsetting the locals.

F6-7 blowing onto pontoon mooring, late May.
Rehearse downstream of mooring to attempt a stern approach and all o.k.
Get to pontoon and put rehearsed procedures into action where shouts of "no don't do it like that". Get really close and closing quickly to the pontoon... put into for'ard and push the Bow thruster button hard and there we were alongside the pontoon.

The 'helpers' on the landing stage walked away without comment and they wouldn't even smile, nod or communicate as we passed them later in the dinghy. ??? :)
