Adding AIS to Raymarine

Is it possible that your auto pilot is powering your 2k bus and the splitter is only getting power when auto pilot is on? My 2k network is fed with a separate power feed

I know but that is not fun :)

I'm a marine electrician and i can sort it out for you ;)

One of the Seatalk cables will be coloured red/black. This is the STNG/N2K network power supply. This will no doubt be connected to wherever the AP is taking it's power from. You need to disconnect this cable and connect it it to the same place as the plotter and AIS get their power (the instrumentation switch). Make sure all connections to this switch are suitably fused.

He needs power to the N2K network, Plotter, splitter and AIS (the AIS must have its own power supply, it cannot be taken from the N2K network). He has all of the power connections, but the network supply is switch from the stb engine, it needs to be switched with the plotter etc.

This is just a poorly installed electronics installation.

Great, thanks, i will try to do that!
(I am.only wondering how does the radar and sounder appear on the c90w, i thiught they used the same network)

Can the autopilot be on when the powersteering is off? I am asking this because the autopilot display only has one connection (as you can see in the top right image bellow) so i imagine it is taking the power from there...

The autopilot cannot take its power from the ST network.

I told you what to look for in post #43.

Perhaps post #39 is a better answer.

Just for the record, here is all info in one collage (to don't bother you guys with more pictures).
From top left to bottom right:
c90w back (connected via seatlak)
Autopilot (also connected via seatlak and with terminator)

That is a dust cover, not a terminator, terminators are blue.

Seatalk bus (with terminator)

It's not a bus, it's a 5-way connector. The blue device in the right socket is a terminator. The left (blue/white) cable is a backbone cable, this may go to another 5-way connector, or to some T connectors, you need to follow the cable and you should find the red cable i told you about in post #43
