I refer to the bad news that a yachtsman was crushed when the supports of his boat collapsed while he was working under it.
Evidently this happened somewhere here in essex.
I am sure all members of this Forum would wish to join me in wishing him a speedy recovery.

Don't know the details of this accident and wish the victim a speedy recovery.

However it should be a salutory lesson to many boat owners who seem to have their boats chocked up in haphazard ways, we've probably all seen them and each year some of them fall over, fortunately mostly with no one underneath them, but I have witnessed some close calls.

Same theme

Boat yards make a habit of using empty oil drums - anyone know the Health and Safety view on such practices!!

Dont quite know the health and safety view but would imagine if your boat fell off oil drums then the insurance company would no doubt refuise to pay as the boat was not in a proper cradle or some reason like that.
