I've recently posted this on our facebook page and a friend who knows that I post here regularly suggested that you'd enjoy it too:

We were coming out of an anchorage in Miami on Saturday lunchtime, when a wet-bike zoomed close (>30' away) down our starboard side travelling at about 20+ knots, he then turned hard left and chopped right across our bow; I don't know how close he actually was, but he certainly disappeared from sight, so he had to be close. Unfortunately, there was a very solid timber marker post in the water that was just off our port bow, which they immediately slammed into - it was a hell of a bang! I'm presuming that he'd not seen been able to see the post beyond us as he came past? Once we were sure that nobody (they were three-up) had been hurt, you just had to laugh; there were bits of plastic flying/floating everywhere! Aside from every yachty's general dislike/prejudice against wet-bikes what made this especially amusing was the sign that was mounted on the post that they ran into, it read: 'Manatee Area, Minimum Speed. No Wake.'

Thanks for that and thanks to your friend.

I imagine on another Facebook page there's a wet-bike owner complaining about one of "those darned yachties" who deliberately obscured a marker post and forced him to run into it. Or something like that anyway..... :)
