A new way to cross the Atlantic

The ARC do a return - ARC Europe, some mosey back themselves but many stay, go up the east coast of the US or through Panama and keep going west.

June. Thats the time to come back. Top Tip!!! Been bashed in April and May, several times. 2 June crossings, fab. Later the better.

Hope this helps. :)

How about January departure anyone?

I could possibly set up another option, having done this myself twice as an option for those that find December difficult or want to spend Christmas ashore.

Meet up in Canaries for Christmas and/or New year. Great place to be with many local events staged.

Leave after hangovers have all subsided say 3rd to 6th Jan, aim for end of Jan arrival in Barbados or prickly bay, then as an option continue to Trinidad for Carnival. Could be called the Atlantic Barbados challenge (thats been done but it sounds good)

I know a number of experienced race sailors I could call on for lectures, two handed round Britain, race crew on board doctor who's done round world stuff. Rigging experts who've worked on boats from my old Bav to Playstation. I could even get the original owners of Lynn Rival to talk about the lack of pirates in Lefkas?

Charter codeing advice as I've done this and also know a codeing surveyor.

Trouble is I might be too busy, but if there is enough interest you never know.

While the ARC is a bit early as far as the trades are concerned - at least in some years - it gives you a month extra in the Caribbean before you have to get away from hurricanes. You need to get down to the Canaries by the beginning of November at the latest so you'll spend a lot of time there waiting for the start of the crossing. Most people would prefer to be across for Xmas.
