Once again theSIBS Sunseeker stand was a confection of Aztec proportions. It clearly indicates none but the fittest swingingest oldies need apply to buy as none but the very fittest, youngest legs would reach the top with enough breath left to do a deal. The place is a hubub of multi-lingual deal wrangling, aspiration polishing and press day pop music.

I, though I was resplendant in my boatshow socks, the ones without holes, felt quite out of place.

You can clearly see how they have reached the towering heights of business success though. Compared to any other manufacturer they know their market, invest more and try harder.

Imagine if the sailing boat builders got going like this.

Now if I can just get over this varnish/halogen induced blindness, I might find my way out of this 105 before the show ends.

They have - some people may look down their nose at Bavaria but there is another stunningly successful marque who have targeted a particular market and treated the whole thing as a proper manufacturing enterprise rather than a cottage industry.

Yes isn't that strange - Boat show boats seem to be fitted with 150 Giga Watt High intensity Gas Discharge mega super wonder light bulbs, but my own boat has what looks like a slightly asthmatic glow worm stuck in a smoky test tube - wonder why that is?.

I think that all sailing boats at the boat show should also be exhibited on a kind of frame work which allows them to be tilted over - 'coz I for one would love to see what happens to the vases of flowers, bowls of pot porrit and other associated arty fartyness if you whammed the boats over to 30 degrees of heel /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
