Rather like Peppermint I decided prudence was better than valour in view of the High approaching Norway and the Low approaching Brest giving 30kts in mid channel, so Fecamp/ Cherbourg turned into a Solent jolly.
Instead we played with the Storm Jib and Trysail on Sat going from Chi to the Forts and then stuffed three reefs up and sat back until Newtown. Decided on Gosport overnight as did not want to be too late on Ebb tide at Chi on Sunday in the forecast 5-7. Also as a Chi M resident get 10 nights free in other Premier Marinas
At Gosport had one of the best Curry's for years in a place in Stokes Road.
On Sunday had a really good blast at up to 10 kts along the coast in gusts over 30kts although it was a bit slammy in the square swell, Chi Bar was just getting a bit yipeeee 2 hours after HW.
Final milestone of the weekend was the passing of 20,000 miles in the 8 years I have had Ronhilda so all in all a goodweekend even if we did not get to slurp the Benidictine in Fecamp.
