A Big Thank You

After an "interesting" Saturday night / Sunday morning on the boat, I discovered that there really are some good guys in the Marine Industry.

I would like to thank Sea Start for their extremely efficient & friendly service, and likewise to Karen at Chichester Marina and to Shaun of B A Peters for all their help.

It's reassuring to know there's people like you about.

I'll tell you the about the beginning and the end.

You'll have to work out the middle bit for yourselves.

It started on the Saturday late afternoon while preparing to anchor at a fairly crowded East Head in a Force 5 gusting 6. Suddenly a "tink, tink, tink" noise, and no drive from port leg.

It ended with me on Sunday morning having to take the toilet apart and cleaning it out.

OK I will rise!!!!!

Some one decided to flush a rope down the toilet a long one and it tangled round the port prop, this blocked the loo and broke the leg,
But the toilet being blocked was not discovered until it was used, and then as these things go, more water pumped in and it just fills up.

meanwhile the tide moved the rope around and it tangled around the anchor as well as the prop. did say it was a long rope!!!!
So leg is lifted and rope cut, but still wrapped round anchor so as that was lifted it locked up, but this pulled the rope out of the toilet but broke it on the way out, and toilet starts back filling,

So now have one engine , a dangling anchor and a flooding head.

Sea start turn up, stick plug in toilet, cut rope off anchor and tow you in to port.
