Here in Galicia they have assembl3d a fleet of 6 6metre wooden racing yachts which will start to sort out a race programme under the auspices of the Sanxento yacht club and it will be patronized by the Spanish kings father........ and probably some sponsors and exceedingly wealthy patrons from all over the world........according

This is a very competitive class, racing in a number of countries across the world. There are a few boats sailing in the UK, the top boats are beautifully equipped. The Worlds were in La Trinite last year, I recall. It looks as though a Spanish fleet is just being established. http://www.6metre.com/#!national-fleets-/ckm0
I thought they were in Falmouth, but that could have been the year before.

A cousin used to compete in 6's. In one memorable regatta in France, he was fouled by a Frenchie, but didn't protest. but the other boat protested him. At the completion dinner, the French host complimented the English on their sportsmanship, which had beeen sadly lacking on his own side....
