2016 Scuttlebutt Cherbourg Cruise

Ok finally collated info from thread and PMs and sent out spreadsheet.

If you do not receive it check junk folder! or I have your e mail wrong.

Bedouin - are you attending?

Horatio Nelson & Brian Humber I cannot find any e mail address for you

Please check spreadsheet and let me know any errors.

Please check numbers for dinner at YC and Wine Tasting I need to confirm these asap.

Sorry for delay but getting other house ready to let, interviewing tenants, arranging to buy & collect a car for Portugal and finally packing to drive onwards from Cherbourg to Portugal has taken its time (plus replacing rear bumper and impact unit on some poor womans car that I hit!). Finally getting roped in to do some work on step daughters flat - its all go.

Never boring

Unfortunately Fergus cannot join us this year so I have struggled with the menu.

With a large part we need to go for one set meal its impossible to get a meal to suit everyone.
so its this or veggie. Please let me know if you require veggie!

In the past he consensus is for the middle cost menu "Matlot!"

Kir vin blanc

Starter - Tartare de Daurade a la vanilla

Main - Ballottine de Veal au Champignons

Formage de Normandy

Dessert - Tarte aux Pommes Glace a la Cannet

1/3 bottle of wine per person.

Please confirm numbers for veggies asap and let me know if numbers for YC dinner on spreadsheet need alteration.

We try to please - if you are sober enough on the night can you look at the Matlot menu and let me know if you would have preferred a different choice - perhaps for 2017. I have had a couple of requests this year for anything except chicken!! Its possible we will be nearly 50 this year and to cater for that many at the price they require 1 choice with a veggie option and settle the bill as one bill. they are usually overgenerous on the wine.

If you want something doing, ask a busy man. I'm exhausted just reading that list.

Hi Roger

Thanks for all the hard work going into the organisation!

For the spreadsheet update - Robin Birch / Hanser - can you put 2 down for the wine tasting. No other changes

Hmm, 'Mrs d' just read this post and lamented that she "wished all men were like that!"

Still, off to Chbg tomorrow so the perfect excuse ;);)

Will wait until tonight and collate all extra info into an updated spreadsheet and re send it.

Thanks for the spreadsheet. You are doing a great job as ever. :encouragement:

Menu sounds great. Daurade = bream. And it'll be nice to have veal as a change.

I'm definitely up for the wine tasting (provided it is after midday). Can't speak for Capt. Dom and his other deckhands, though.

Yes why not, great idea! +3 more

3 meat for the crew of Pipedream II. CPD, MoodySabre and Full Circle, many thanks.
My Skipper's dictionary and thesaurus have no entries for 'communication'

Not to be outdone, I have a ROLL of labels. With about 3,500 on a roll, that should cover this year but I can get you some more next year if you need them :encouragement:

Thats fine for the 2 of us on EVELYN.

Now tied up on Q pontoon - let the party begin! :encouragement:

I've just received my YM Letter Of The Month bottle of Pussers Rum. If anyone would like a shot please feel free to come a knocking. I was thinking of taking it to the pontoon party but with wine tasting before hand it might not be a sensible idea.

It had better be a big bottle with an estimated 50 people attending!!

Ok give it time but after posting this I will issue updated spreadsheet with updates/corrections.. I have not received any Veggie requests.

No e mail address yet for Horatio Nelson or Brian Humber

Please check numbers for wine tasting as they request parties of max 20 so may need two sittings. I may have to attend both to be polite and p..sed. Clue for those that don't know me - when I slur my words I am talking more rubbish than normal!

One small boat has dropped out and I have one crew that can't make it so I can offer spare places on my jeanneau 43DS. We are now 5 (6 including 1st officer for Sat night) but It takes 8 comfortably for a weekend bash (total 10 with small cosy bunk beds!- I specified it for the charter market.). We are now leaving Parkstone Yacht Club on Thursday late night and sailing overnight to try to beat the Wind going due S at 12.00 on Friday!

1st Officer is coming over with car on Ferry and we are driving down to Portugal on Sunday (yes I know someone has too!) while crew will leave early (say 05.00 ) on Sunday to return to Poole. We just split the cost equally for food and diesel/berthing - boat now no longer on charter is FOC! (I used to have to invoice myself and spread the VAT!!) We do start the larder for the pontoon party but most of my crew remark a weekend on my boat is cheaper than one at home - must look into my bookkeeping!

Contact me by PM or mobile if you have the spreadsheet
