Hi all, i am a new member here but have been boating for a while now.

We own a Fletcher 140 Blackmax with a 60hp mercury. We mainly use it in scotland in a sheltered bay, it is used to tow inflatables, 1 skier and knee boarders.

I have acquired very cheap, a Glastron ssv 143 in very tidy condition, on a brand new trailer. This is generally in nicer 'less used' condition. It does not come with a ski pole like the Fletcher, nor boarding ladder.

The big problem is the engine is only 30hp, which is too small but it is as new mariner so worth good money to purchase an older larger engine for what we need, I am competent enough to do the swap too but unsure on the largest engine for the glastron as I can't find any info on the 143.

I am finding it difficult to decide which one I want to keep, so I was hoping you guys could give me a helping hand.

Thankyou in advance for your help

Keep the Fletch its working doing what You want
A 'nicer' Glastron?
so its 'shiney'
Let someone else put a ski pols and a proper engine on it
Go on e bay etc
There are loads of boats out there
'Time' is worth more than money sometimes
Well, most times!

Thankyou for your reply, the Fletcher is fully set up for what we want, just slightly on the short side of power but it does the job. Plus we have just spent a lot of money on the mercury 60 with new stator, trigger, coils and cdi so I know it's reliable too! Thanks again
