Just trying to source a timer for my 'trumatic' gas heater.
In case this fails and for general interest can anyone advise if there is a simple 12volt timer on the market.
By this I mean something like the simple plug in ones used to time devices in the home.
Would there be problems if I left the heater control set on at low power and then used the timer to feed power at the times required?
Regards

Could Maplin be the answer again? 12V timer It's only good for 15 mins max and I know nothing about your heater and how it might like this arrangement.

http://12volt.com.au
or http://www.altronics.com.au both have a 12 volt timer with a lithium battery for the clock and a 12 volt supply (or 24) for the relay which can then switch 250 or 12 volt. about $55 oz dollars (22squid) less 10% oz tax plus any customs and VAT payable on arrival UK. They will give any amaont of time any number of times per day each day or any day. i am sure they would be available in UK somewhere. olewill

Be careful...

Many heaters have a controlled shutdown phase, to cool the heat exchanger and to purge exhaust fumes. If yours is like this, you can't just simply turn the power on and off. Be careful to wire any timer so that the heater works correctly. Truma sell an add-on 12v timer for Trumatic heaters.
